The Physics Department at Emory University hosts a suite of research facilities for material and device preparation and deposition, nanofabrication, characterization and measurements.
Facilities listed as shared departmental equipment are available free of charge to all researchers affiliated with the Physics Department. If you are not affiliated with the Department and wish to access the facilities, please contact the person listed as the facility supervisor. Facilities located in individual research labs are often available to other researchers on a collaborative basis. If interested, please contact the listed supervising faculty.
Preparation and Deposition Facilities
The preparation and deposition facilities hosted by the Physics Department at Emory University include an automatic wafer dicer, a high-temperature tube furnace, a three-source thermal evaporator, a four-pocket e-beam evaporator, a multisource sputtering/ion milling system, a molecular beam epitaxy system, and a chemical vapor deposition system.

Nanofabrication Facilities
The nanofabrication facilities hosted by the Physics Department at Emory University include an E-beam lithography system, a Photolithography Setup, and a dedicated fumehood with a spinner, a digital hotplate, and a complete array of chemicals utilized in lithographic processes.

Characterization and Measurement Facilities
The characterization and measurement facilities hosted by the Physics Department at Emory University include a biophotonic imaging system, 3D confocal microscopy imaging system, a variable pressure scanning electron microscope, an atomic force microscope, a Static and Dynamic Light Scattering System, a diffraction-limited bright/darkfield DIC optical microscope, a magnetoelectronic property characterization system, a microwave spectroscopy system, a Vibrating Sample Magnetometer, and a MOKE Magnetometer.
